After years of releasing music on established labels and playing clubs across Europe, Italian DJ and producer Fabio Ferro is taking the next step in his career with the launch of Route51, his own record label.

Ferro has spent more than a decade as a resident with the Familia party at Egg London, alongside appearances at Ibiza venues including Hï, Privilege and Pacha. His catalog includes releases on Kaluki Musik and Snatch! Records, but Route51 gives him an opportunity to develop his own musical direction and establish a home for future releases.

The label’s first release, the two-track Yo Creo EP, which dropped on September 24, 2026, pairing the title track with “Rollin’.” Both records draw from Ferro’s background in tech house, with “Yo Creo” placing particular emphasis on a driving bassline, Latin vocal samples and tightly arranged percussion. There’s an economy to the production that makes the individual sounds especially important, with the bass, vocal and drums doing much of the work rather than relying on an overly busy arrangement.

For “Yo Creo,” Ferro turned to SynthMaster Player 3.0 for both the bassline and main lead, using audio rendering and time-stretching to develop additional textures from his original synth programming. The vocal hook was assembled using a sampler, while layered congas, shakers and offbeat hi-hats helped establish the track’s rhythmic character. Below, Ferro explains the production decisions behind “Yo Creo” and how he approached the individual elements of the record.

The Bassline: SynthMaster Player 3.0

The low-end is the heart of the track so getting the bass weight and bite right was step one. I chose SynthMaster Player 3.0 because of its fast workflow and the depth of its engine.

I picked a punchy, analog-style bass preset with a solid sub-foundation and nice mid-range harmonics. Even though it’s the Player version, the quick-control parameters allow you to shape the essential characteristics instantly.

I followed the synth with a dedicated EQ to clean up sub-20Hz rumble, a subtle sidechain compressor triggered by the kick and a touch of saturation to help the bass cut through on smaller speaker systems.

The Main Synth Lead: SynthMaster Player 3.0

For the lead line, I needed something cutting, characterful and dynamic. I turned back to SynthMaster Player 3.0 to complement the bassline’s sonic fingerprint.

I selected a rich, multi-oscillator lead preset featuring a subtle glide/portamento effect. The engine’s hybrid architecture gave the lead a modern, sharp transient while retaining a warm, full-bodied tone.

Once I dialed in the MIDI phrase and macro automation, I bounced the synth line to raw audio. Rendering to audio opened up a whole new set of creative possibilities: I pitched and heavily time-stretched key notes and tail ends. Stretching the audio allowed me to create long, warped textures and sweeping transition glides that wouldn’t have been possible in real-time MIDI.

Vocal Chopping & Sampler Work

The vocal hook is what anchors the track’s identity and gives it its signature character.

I loaded the full raw vocal recording directly into a sampler. Instead of using the entire phrase I focused on the specific section where the vocal says “Yo Creo”.

Percussion Layering

To complement the synth and vocal work, the drums had to be tight and rhythmic.

I layered multiple conga patterns with subtle panning and timing offsets to give the groove a warm, tribal human feel. Off-beat hi-hats and textured shakers were placed around the congas to maintain constant momentum beneath the synth lead and vocal chops.
