Suki Soul – Ain’t No Doubt [Fool’s Paradise]
Suki Soul has earned her place in the Disco world as not only an amazing singer but also a full-fledged producer. If you want to get your next party started, I would recommend playing “Ain’t No Doubt” at full volume! Suki’s talent has landed her on Mark Knight’s Fool’s Paradise Records, and that is a feat worth celebrating!
Tonique & Man – All The Feels [TONIQUE Records]
Just in time for summer, Tonique & Man reemerge with their new track “All The Feels”, a bright Nu-Disco jam that may not send you straight to the dancefloor, but will certainly get you groovin. The synths definitely have a nostalgic 80s feel, which will make you happy for the few minutes of joy this song provides.
Michael Gray – Detonate feat. Kelli Sae & Errol Reid [Sultra Records]
Michael Gray dropped his third album, You & Me, this May, and it is jam-packed with great House, Disco, and Boogie tracks to keep you moving all night long! “Detonate” features the call-and-response vocals of Kelli Sae and Errol Reid, luring the listener into the sexy love affair that great Disco can provide!
MGR Mike – Disco Is: (Radio Edit) [Sparkle Motion Recordings]
Disco is power, freedom, rebellion, love, unity, the past, and the future…it’s everything! MGR Mike is the head of the cheerleading squad when it comes to Disco music and what it means to the world. “Disco Is:” is a mantra, a reminder that this genre of music we love isn’t just fun to dance to, but it’s a revolution!
MonsieurWilly – My Love Is Music feat. Jay Murphy & Natalie Nova (Disco Tribute) [Funky French League]
Funky French League alum MonsieurWilly gave us “My Love Is Music” this May, a collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Jay Murphy and vocal diva Natalie Nova. The Disco Tribute version adds more funky percussion and bass, as well as an overall brighter feel than the original House mix. Whichever version you prefer, this track will get you moving!
THEOS – Love Me Right feat. Fleur De Mur [THEOS Music]
If you are in the mood for fantastic Disco/House music, then Paris native THEOS‘ “Love Me Right” is the track to listen to! Fleur De Mur‘s vocals are sunshine in a bottle, every note dripping with soul and just enough punchy edge to elevate the music into the stratosphere! While we wait for Fleur’s upcoming LP, we can cherish her appearances with other fantastic genre artists!
Martina Budde & Ladies On Mars – Imagine [Soulful House 66]
The LP Dualism is the collaboration between Martina Budde and Ladies On Mars that I didn’t know I needed! There isn’t a dud on this album full of House, Disco, Nu-Disco, and beyond. The opening track, “Imagine,” nods heavily to classic disco while still maintaining a modern Disco/House vibe. This theme runs throughout the project, where the dual nature of these two artists coming together makes them both stronger.
Donna Summer – Spring Affair (Mirko Donnini Disco Edit) [JM Promo]
It’s always a risk to take a Donna Summer classic like “Spring Affair” and try to give it a modern sound, but that’s exactly what Mirko Donnini has done. His edit amps up the tempo with a warm bassline and funky rhythms that take an early Disco sleeper and turn it into a track you will want to dance to!
Luca Guerrieri – Disco Connection [DVS Records]
If you like a slow-burning disco track, then Luca Guerrieri‘s “Disco Connection” will fill that space! This track takes classic Disco elements like breathy vocals, strings, and thumpin’ bass, adds some modern computer touches to those elements, and what you get is a modern Disco/House masterpiece.
Dirty Supercar – Nothing But The Music feat. Elliot Chapman [The Disco Express]
We still don’t know exactly who the London-based duo Dirty Supercar are, but we do know the quality of Disco they produce is top-notch! “Nothing But The Music” was released on the limited vinyl XPRESS Singles Vol. 2: Nothing But The Music / 20 Buck Funk, and this track hits just right! Elliot Chapman’s vocals help drive the message of this song: without the music, we are nothing. That may be a little strong, but the music sure helps make life better!
Kraak & Smaak and Kosta G – Nothing Is Forever (Yuksek Remix) [Boogie Angst]
If you are looking for a vibey dance track to sink your teeth (and ears) into, Yuksek‘s remix of Kraak & Smaak‘s “Nothing Is Forever” is the one to hear! Think of the spacey Giorgio Moroder treatment of any late 70s Donna Summer track, and you will understand the feel of this remix. This one is perfect for those late nights in the club.
Jamie Van Goulden – Wild Blueberries [Sundries]
Jamie Van Goulden‘s “Wild Blueberries” is another track that is an incredible introduction to summer. The vibe is chill and easy, while begging you to get up and groove to it! The synths drive this track while the lyrics are earnest and beg to take you home. The feeling is mutual, and I recommend you take this track home now!
Kymono – Maryou [Toy Tonics]
If you are craving an analog listening experience, then look no further than hot new Italian band Kymono! Bridging the gap between Disco/House, Jazz, and Latin rhythms, the five-piece band’s new LP is packed with jams that combine all of these influences. “The final track, “Maryou,” marries the live element of the band with some fun studio tricks. The whole LP is worth a listen, and you can find it here.
Jaegerossa – Shining (Extended Mix) [Fool’s Paradise]
Phil Rose, aka Jaegerossa, continues to find fresh ways to celebrate Disco music. “Shining” is a gorgeous, anthemic Disco/House track that celebrates joy, with gospel-like vocals soaring over funking bass, rhythm guitar, synths, organ, a driving rhythm section, and those perfect claps to wrap up the track.
Lord Funk – Too Hot to Stop (Art of Tones Remix) [Boogie Butt Records]
From supplying and selling records to making some of the hottest Disco/Funk tracks around, Lord Funk has earned his place amongst the best Disco artists today. “Too Hot To Stop” has gotten the remix treatment from Art of Tones, and there is no one who loves this style of music who won’t want to dance to this dancefloor burner! Too hot to stop, indeed!
