Marcus Schmahl’s “Parallel Echo” premieres today on Magnetic Magazine’s SoundCloud, arriving one week ahead of the full Fragments of Time EP, out May 29 on Tronic. The release includes “Fragments of Time,” the original mix of “Parallel Echo,” and the “Parallel Echo” Afterlight Mix, with the original mix taking focus here as the cut we’re bringing to listeners first.
“Parallel Echo” sits at 123 BPM in F major, and that tempo gives the track a measured, club-driving pace without forcing the arrangement into overdrive. The rhythm stays dialed in too, with the melodic writing having space, and the production keeps its details in service of the full record. It feels like it was built by someone who understands how a track needs to function when it moves from headphones to a room system.

A Tronic Release With Real Producer DNA
Marcus Schmahl has spent years building a career across techno, progressive house, sound design, and music for media. He has released under projects and aliases including 2pole, Apnoea, and Broombeck, with records such as “2pole – Alone feat. Ursula Rucker” and “Broombeck – Mono Turn” helping establish his name across international electronic music.
That history comes through in “Parallel Echo” through the level of control in the production. The track has analog texture, clear low-end movement, and a melodic idea that develops without crowding the mix. There is enough detail to reward focused listening, while the arrangement still gives DJs a practical record for longer sets.

Why “Parallel Echo” Works As The Premiere
Part of what makes “Parallel Echo” worth leading with is how direct it feels. Schmahl avoids overloading the track with unnecessary movement, and the record stays focused on rhythm, tone, and progression. The result is a piece that sits comfortably inside Tronic’s catalog while still reflecting his own background as a producer with roots across club music and wider audio work.
Schmahl’s résumé includes performances at Berghain, Eden, ADE, Sonar Festival, Nature One, Ritter Butzke, Tanzhaus, and Pratersauna, alongside work for film, advertising, and television. That range gives context to the track’s balance of utility and detail.
The full Fragments of Time EP lands May 29 via Tronic. Listen to the premiere of “Parallel Echo” now on Magnetic Magazine’s SoundCloud before the full release arrives next week.
