DJ DIESEL and LAYZ have officially unleashed their first collaborative single, “BRING THE PAIN.” Following a series of high-profile festival plays and surprise back-to-back sets, the track lands as the lead single off DJ DIESEL’s forthcoming EP MOST DOMINANT, dropping on July 18th. With this release, both artists channel raw intensity and genre-pushing sound design into a mainstage-ready anthem built for maximum impact.
“BRING THE PAIN” opens with DJ DIESEL’s spoken-word command layered over distorted acid synths and blistering percussion. As the buildup hits, a series of sharpened FX and punctuated claps drive tension until the drop explodes into high-density dubstep. The second drop pivots into a hard techno rhythm, adding a fresh twist that reinforces both artists’ desire to blend styles within bass music. This track has already been successfully tested at major events like EDC Mexico and Shaq’s Bass All-Stars, where its reception included mosh pits, crowd chants, and nonstop energy from front to back.
Shaquille O’Neal, known globally as DJ DIESEL, has spent the past several years collaborating with some of the scene’s top emerging artists. “This record means a lot to me. I love working with artists who are hungry and have that raw power behind their sound,” he shares. “LAYZ is one of the most talented young producers out there right now, and the energy we created in this track is pure madness. ‘BRING THE PAIN’ is just a taste of what’s coming.”
The release follows a string of singles from DJ DIESEL that reflect the growing ambition of his production catalog. Tracks like “Pay Respect” with GorillaT and FRAXURE, “Run It” with IVORY, and “Damage” with Virtual Riot all showcase his commitment to collaborating across bass subgenres. These tracks, along with “BRING THE PAIN,” form the foundation of MOST DOMINANT, an eight-track project that promises new collaborations with artists pushing the limits of the genre.
For LAYZ, the collaboration adds to a breakout year defined by key festival plays and a rapidly growing discography. After the success of “LIGHTS OUT” with Calcium and a widely praised B2B with Kompany at Forbidden Kingdom, her presence has become impossible to ignore. Now added to this year’s Lost Lands lineup, she remains a driving force in modern dubstep with each new release.
“BRING THE PAIN” captures the uncompromising energy both artists bring to their performances. More than a collaboration, it serves as a preview of an aggressive, high-stakes EP rollout and a testament to DJ DIESEL’s commitment to championing the next wave of bass producers and building genuine friendships with them.

Raised in upstate New York, I was always a big fan of music but never really listened to electronic music. Within the first month of attending Florida State University and meeting some new friends, I was introduced to the rave scene. After seeing Ekali at my first show, I was instantly hooked. Since then, I have dived into every subgenre of electronic music, picked up DJing, and mixed for clubs and different entertainment events in Tallahassee. Once graduating with degrees in marketing and hospitality, I was hired for a sales position. However, I recently decided to leave my sales job to pursue my dream of working in the music industry. Currently, I run Magnetic Magazine's Melodic Techno Charts, along with my role as a PR and marketing specialist for different artists and labels. Some of my favorite artists are REZZ, Kyle Watson, TOBEHONEST, San Pacho, Josh Baker, HUGEL, ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Ganja White Night, CamelPhat, Green Velvet, Jungle, Milky Chance, Paco Versailles, Franc Moody, and RÜFUS DU SOL. My favorite festivals are Hulaween (by far), EDC Orlando, and all the different venues during Miami Music Week. Outside of music, I love sports (especially hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, and spike ball), going to the movies, working out, sushi, Chick-fil-A, food in general, and hanging with my dog Maui and my cat Loki. Feel free to reach out to me via my email or on IG, I love expanding my network of friends and business opportunities!
