Alehho and Matt Caines recently released a smashing two-track EP, “Agadir,” under Go Deeva Records Classy. The EP blends deep house with progressive and Afrohouse influences, packing the best of all genres into a truly phenomenal release.

Both artists bring a unique background to this project that has already proven to be a winning formula, seeing as their last release, Under The Crescent Moon, which came out on the 17th of this month, charted at #7 on Beatport Organic House / Downtempo releases. This EP is an obvious example of being greater than the sum of the two producers behind it, so let’s unpack a little bit more about who they are and what this release is all about,

Agadir

The EP’s opening track, “Agadir,” is a picture-perfect showcase of Alehho and Matt Caines’ ability to create a minimal, punchy club tune. The track rolls out with a deep, progressive beat, immediately setting an atmospheric but still driving vibe and mood. Afrohouse elements slowly start to weave into the arrangement, most notably in the percs and the vocals, lending a worldly ambiance that takes the tune to another level entirely.

The stripped-back arrangement allows these vocals to take center stage, allowing them to shine against drifting kalimbas and atmospheric pads. These elements add texture and depth without overwhelming the track’s core, making it so effective on the dancefloor and in more casual playlists and background listening situations, making “Agadir” as versatile as it is.

2 Idiomas

The second track, “2 Idiomas,” shifts the mood to a more direct and overtly club-friendly vibe. It starts with a filtered Reese-style bassline, introducing a sense of intensity and urgency without being too overly aggressive or in your face. Spoken word samples punctuate the track, adding a new narrative layer that keeps the core groove and melodics sounding fresh and unrepetitive.

The Reese bassline fades when the real beat kicks in and is replaced by a tight and syncopated bass that locks in the main dance sections of the tune. This transition is executed seamlessly, maintaining the track’s energy while introducing a fresh rhythmic pattern.

This track’s structure and energy make it a standout for high-energy sets and is another fantastic delivery for a label that has long been known for its consistent quality.
