Known for chart-topping hits like “Laserbeam,” Ray Volpe surprises audiences once again with his latest single, “SONG REQUEST.” Combining elements of bass house and dubstep, this track is already making waves across the dance music scene, supported by top DJs such as Dr. Fresch, Sullivan King, DIESEL and Steve Aoki.

The song’s ground-shaking drops and catchy vocal has been radiating a similar mass appeal to “Laserbeam,” evident in viral reels like a shell-shocked Busta Rhymes while Steve Aoki plays the track, and Ray lighting it up during his sold-out show in Houston.

Speaking on the inspiration behind the track, Ray explained, “I thought of the entire song idea in the shower! I was literally washing my hair and started thinking about that ‘baaa daa daaa’ melody. It immediately felt catchy to me. ‘SONG REQUEST’ really captures that rave experience where you, your friends, and everyone around you are shouting the song together, while connecting over that moment in time.”

Boasting a multi-genre discography, Ray Volpe showcases his versatility as a producer via “SONG REQUEST.” The process of journeying into bass house has been fun and refreshing for the talented artist, with that energy clearly radiating through the track itself.

The song will be one of Ray’s long-list of career achievements so far. His VOLPETRON ASCENDS tour featured 35 festivals, including 13 sell-outs. Recent highlights include a standout NYE b2b with Crankdat and a historic set at Echostage with NGHTMRE. Recognized as the ‘Best New Artist’ at the EDM Awards 2023, he’s also a ‘Dubstep Artist of the Year’ nominee.

Household dubstep track “Laserbeam” landed #1 iTunes and Beatport charts, dominated Billboard charts, and garnered tens of millions of streams. Remixes by Chris Lake and Hardwell, plus plays by Excision and ILLENIUM, has solidified Ray’s place as a powerful and influential musical force.

As Ray continues his hot streak of neck-breaking bangers and stunning live sets, he gears up for upcoming performances across the world at festivals like Beyond Wonderland Chicago, Forbidden Kingdom, Asia’s S2O, Germany’s Parookaville, Tomorrowland, Bass Canyon, and on Excision’s Nexus tour. “SONG REQUEST” is guaranteed to be a staple in not only these performances but weaponized by DJs throughout the global rave scene.

Raised in upstate New York, I was always a big fan of music but never really listened to electronic music. Within the first month of attending Florida State University and meeting some new friends, I was introduced to the rave scene. After seeing Ekali at my first show, I was instantly hooked. Since then, I have dived into every subgenre of electronic music, picked up DJing, and mixed for clubs and different entertainment events in Tallahassee. Once graduating with degrees in marketing and hospitality, I was hired for a sales position. However, I recently decided to leave my sales job to pursue my dream of working in the music industry. Currently, I run Magnetic Magazine's Melodic Techno Charts, along with my role as a PR and marketing specialist for different artists and labels. Some of my favorite artists are REZZ, Kyle Watson, TOBEHONEST, San Pacho, Josh Baker, HUGEL, ARTBAT, Vintage Culture, Ganja White Night, CamelPhat, Green Velvet, Jungle, Milky Chance, Paco Versailles, Franc Moody, and RÜFUS DU SOL. My favorite festivals are Hulaween (by far), EDC Orlando, and all the different venues during Miami Music Week. Outside of music, I love sports (especially hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, and spike ball), going to the movies, working out, sushi, Chick-fil-A, food in general, and hanging with my dog Maui and my cat Loki. Feel free to reach out to me via my email or on IG, I love expanding my network of friends and business opportunities!
