OpenDAW, the boutique writing camp and education platform, is broadening its horizon by launching a brand-new podcast series, “OpenDAW Talks.” With a stellar line-up set to grace the airwaves, including Roger Sanchez, Mark Knight, DJ Cuppy, and others, this series promises to be a haven for both budding and seasoned music enthusiasts.

Founded by independent producer Alex Kenning in 2020, OpenDAW aimed to bridge the gap for independent artists whose collaborative and networking endeavors were halted by the pandemic. Growing swiftly, they’ve collaborated with over a hundred independent artists spanning sixteen nations and have forged alliances with giants like Audiomovers, PIRATE, BIMM, and Music Production for Women.

Moving from a digital space to physical realms, OpenDAW held its first in-person workshops in 2021, aligning with the Brighton Music Conference. Their educational thrust has been noteworthy, with panels graced by renowned names like Just Her, James Herr, and Roger Sanchez, all hosted by Kenning.

Listeners can expect a riveting journey of songwriting techniques, the intricacies of collaboration, and maintaining a positive mindset. The insights are complemented by golden nuggets from seasoned professionals. One such quote from the inaugural episode stands out:

As the curtains rise on “OpenDAW Talks,” the first episode sees Felix Buxton of Basement Jaxx, the GRAMMY and Billboard Award-winning duo known for timeless hits such as ‘Where’s Your Head At,’ ‘Romeo,’ and ‘Red Alert.’ Alex Kenning shares his excitement: “I’m incredibly excited to launch our new podcast series. Felix is one of the most respected artists in the world, and we covered a huge amount of ground in our conversation, so I know there will be some gold in there for even the most seasoned producers.”
