With his signature style of house music, Berlin based producer and multi-instrumentalist Paji has been taking the world by storm. Today Paji releases the music video for his latest single “Hewa.”
“Hewa” translates to air in Kurdish. The single marks the second official release on Paji’s emblem Jîyan. “Hewa” takes listeners on an emotional and inspiring journey to a place where they soar above the clouds.
A lifelong violinist, Paji’s carefully crafted string arrangement forms the focal point of “Hewa.” Paji merges the classical and electronic worlds with the sounds of the East and the West to create an ingenious, singular style of music. The music video for “Hewa” was shot on location in Mallorca, Spain. It provides a look into Paji’s artistic process as it showcases him receiving inspiration from nature, beginning the producing and recording process for his masterful compositions, and then finally bringing them to the stage. The captivating music video “Hewa” powerfully intertwines footage of Mallorca’s natural beauty with cinematic shots taken from Paji’s thrilling live performances.
When approached about “Hewa,” Paji had this to say, “My label Jîyan translates to life in Kurdish, my mother’s native language. I’ve always been inspired by the element of “air” and how we can use sound to recreate the feelings that this powerful element evokes. When I began producing “Hewa,” I started off with a violin riff, which reminded me of something airy. It seemed natural to name the song “Hewa,” which translates to “air,” one of the four essential elements of life. From there the name just stuck.”
