Just less than two months into 2023, this year has been chock-full of amazing electronic music releases. This month’s indie electronic music playlist features phenomenal releases from across the globe. We are excited to bring you some of the newest and most exciting eclectic indie electronic releases of 2023. 

Ranging from progressive house to lo-fi to glitchy bass music and everything in between, February’s indie electronic playlist contains something special for all electronic music lovers. Represented here are tracks from Venessa Michaels’ debut full-length album Sent from Saturn and Yotto’s sophomore album Growth. Labels represented on this playlist include Thrive Music, Bambossa Records, Terminal Underground, and more. Hope you enjoy this playlist as much as we did putting this together. 1. “NO ENDING” – YOTTO & JULIA CHURCH

Gaining recognition from the likes of Eric Prydz, Jamie Jones, Annie Mac, and Pete Tong, Yotto has gained a reputation as one of the world’s foremost electronic producers and DJs. Earlier this month the Finnish producer released his sophomore album titled Growth on his own emblem Odd One Out. For “No Ending” Yotto teams up with South African singer-songwriter Julia Church. Church’s soulful and ethereal vocals steal the show on this beautifully crafted cinematic and celestial tune.

2. “DANCING” – MODAPIT

Enigmatic indie electronic artist Modapit recently released his debut lead single “Dancing” on Thrive Music. “Dancing” fuses a myriad of sounds ranging from techno to industrial to intoxicating pop melodies. The result is a signature sound the ingenious and multidimensional artist has deemed as a goth-techno vibe. Accompanied along with a well choreographed and beautifully filmed music video, “Dancing” is a powerful and dynamic introduction into an exciting and groundbreaking electronic music project. 

3. “TU SUENOS” – MOODY 

Las Vegas based tech house music producer and violinist MOODY recently released his new single “Tu Suenos.” The emotive dark techno track powerfully showcases MOODY’s ingenious production and musicianship as he builds around an empowering Spanish vocal sample. “Tu Suenos” uses cosmic synths and frequency elements of MOODY’s violin to build around the topic of never giving up on your dreams. Accompanied by a captivating black and white visualizer video, “Tu Suenos” is an unforgettable tech house track with long-lasting power and grace. 

4) “DEEPEST OF DESIRE” – VENESSA MICHAELS

For the better part of the last decade Venessa Michaels has become a premier DJ and producer in Southern California and beyond. Performing at some of SoCal’s premier festivals such as Camp Flog Gnaw, Coachella, and Splash House, and opening for artists such as Krewella, Venessa Michaels has become known as a true force of nature. Named by DJ Mag as one of the ‘Emerging Artists You Need to Hear,” Venessa Michaels kicked off 2023 on a high note with the release of her debut full-length album Sent From Saturn. House banger “Deepest of Desire” is a euphoria inducing house music tune literally made for the dancefloor. 

5) “CAN’T FIGHT THE FEELING” – MATRODA

The latest groove from house music star Matroda “Can’t Fight the Feeling” is a feel-good house anthem. The uplifting vocals, electrifying aura, high-vibe bassline, and thrilling snares work together to make for the pitch-perfect house music song that will be sure to rock the dance floor all year long. Out now on Terminal Underground this house heater continues the legacy of Matroda who continues to impress fans with each and every release. 

6) “INSIDE MY MIND” – HARRY ROMERO & HONEYLUV

As she performed on stages at key venues and festivals such as Coachella, Day Trip, and Brooklyn Mirage, 2022 truly proved to be the year for house music producer and DJ Honeyluv. Touring alongside the likes of Aluna and Chris Lake and creating remixes for artists such as Annie Mac and Will Clarke, Honeyluv starts 2023 off with a splash on her new dance music collaboration “Inside My Mind” out now on Bambossa Records. Teaming up with label head Harry Romero, “Inside My Head” delicately dances between old school and new school house music for an unforgettable vibe literally made for the dancefloor. 

7) “HOSTAGE” – K THEORY & STAARZ 

The latest single from K Theory and Staarz titled “Hostage” slaps in all the right places. Painting a tapestry of rich sonic landscapes, prolific producer K Theory teams up with singer-songwriter Staarz for an emotive and moody bass music song. Staarz’s introspective and ethereal vocals are impeccably contrasted with K Theory’s progressive trap beats, resulting in a truly dynamic and memorable track that truly steals your attention.

8) “LOOKING (ALL MY LIFE)” – VENESSA MICHAELS

“Looking (All My Life)” is another one of the best tunes featured on Venessa Michaels’ debut full length album Sent From Saturn. Built around catchy melodic vocals, the groovy and sophisticated dance pop tune powerfully showcases Venessa’s ingenious production skills. 

9) “THE PARTY” – PORTRAITS OF TRACY

Hidden indie electronic lo-fi leaning gem “The Party” is the vibe. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana based artist Portraits of Tracy (AKA Jaco Pastorius) released his first two full length albums in 2021, The Misadvice of Junie and Regardless, which he followed up with only one single in 2022 titled “Aeternum.” These releases established Portraits of Tracy as an artist and put Jaco’s production style and abilities as a talented jazz bassist on full display. The perfect mix of old school and new school sound, “The Party” marks the prolific solo artist’s second release of 2023. One could hope that this foreshadows a promising year of releases ahead for Jaco.

10) “ENCOUNTERS” – YOTTO & BOOKA SHADE

Another gem on Yotto’s sophomore album Growth is his collaboration with Grammy nominated German tech house duo Booka Shade. The moody progressive house gem combines the diverse talents of Booka Shade and Yotto for a true electronic music masterpiece.

11) “SALIAH” – HÄANA & MORILLO

Future ethereal one woman orchestra Häana and renowned electronic music producer Morillo recently teamed up for cinematic breaks track “Saliah.” The Islamic name “Saliah,” meaning growth oriented, strong, visionary, adventurous, and freedom loving” appeared to Häana early on when she started writing the tune. Inspired by the ocean, Häana’s ethereal violin strings magically intertwine with Morillo’s brilliant percussion and dexterous beats for a truly one of a kind atmospheric sonic experience. To complement the single, Häana will release a music video this Friday, March 3rd. 

12) “HANGING ON” CRI REMIX (BOB MOSES)

Montreal based electronic music producer breathes new life into Bob Moses’ beloved “Hanging On” with his remix, out now on Domino Recordings. Previously releasing two EPs on TOKiMONSTA’s label Young Art, CRi put himself on the map as one of French Canada’s foremost producers. With his remix of “Hanging On,” CRi shows his ability to continuously keep things fresh and innovative through his unique sonic perspective. 

13) “DOORBELL LUV” – CLOUDCHORD & KORESMA

The latest from prodigious producer and guitarist Cloudchord and electronic producer Koresma “Doorbell Luv” is literally lo-fi bliss. Uniting their two unique talents, the Cloudchord and Koresma blend masterful guitar with jazz, hip-hop, electronica, and funk for the pitch perfect vibe. 

14) “RHYTHM (OF THE NIGHT)” ST BARTS TRUST FUND REMIX – SOMETHING GOOD & YOTTO

Back in October, producers Yotto and Something Good released a remix of 1985 DeBarge’s “Rhythm of the Night.” Last Friday they followed it up with their St Barts Trust Fund Mix. Out now on Yotto’s Odd One Out, the upbeat feel good, groovy, nostalgia laden remix is perfect for a fun night of dancing or to simply use as a mood booster anytime anywhere. 

15) “MERCURY” – MADGE

Indie pop/electronic vocalist Madge recently released her latest single, the high energy single “Mercury.” Best known for her DIY style of eclectic pop, in recent years Madge has been making waves in Los Angeles and beyond. The dynamic “Mercury” is a bubbly upbeat pop electronic song to help boost your mood or provide you with a burst of positive energy.
